About Najik and how we list places

Najik (નજીક, “nearby” in Gujarati) is a map-first guide to places to eat, stay and have fun near you. It is built by a small team in Ahmedabad and starts with the parts of west Ahmedabad we know best: Sindhu Bhavan Road, Bopal and Thaltej.

Why Najik exists

Finding a good place nearby usually means scrolling a long list that ignores where you actually are. Najik works the other way round: pick your state, district and area, then your street or pocket, and see what is around you on a map, by category. The aim is to help you decide where to go, not to keep you on the page.

Where the information comes from

Our team lists each place by hand, area by area, and records its name, category, type, address, price range, service options and features. Ratings and review counts are the ones Google Maps showed when we last checked the data (24 October 2026). They are rounded and are not reviews collected by Najik, so we show them as Google’s and link to Google Maps for the latest numbers and directions.

How places are ordered

Lists are sorted by Google rating, then by number of reviews. A place with very few reviews can show a perfect score that does not mean much, so those places are marked “few reviews” and placed lower, whatever their stars. Notes such as “check if open” or recent complaints in reviews are shown on the place page when we have seen them. Nobody pays to be listed or to rank higher.

What is listed today

Najik lists 514 places: 184 on Sindhu Bhavan Road, 191 in Bopal and 139 in Thaltej, across restaurants, cafes, bakeries, stays, gaming, sports, cinemas, parks, attractions and nightlife. Places that may have closed, or that have too little information to be useful, stay on the map but are kept out of search results until we can confirm them.

Keeping it current

Ratings, prices and opening status change. We re-check areas regularly and show the date of the last check on every page. If something is wrong, a place has closed or a new one has opened, tell us and we will check it.

Where Najik is going

Najik is built to grow from street to city to state: Ahmedabad first, then the rest of Gujarat, then other states, with a Najik app to follow.
